Waterford Investment Capital was formed as the venture capital arm of The Waterford Companies in 1991 by Richard Houlding and David Banker. Over the years they have raised and invested capital and equity for over 20 private and public new business ventures. Waterford Investment Capital has focused its energy on second stage companies which, while still early in their corporate development, have moved beyond just an idea to the stage where they have a product available for sale.
After securing the funds, Waterford Investment Capital maintains its commitment to each project through active involvement with representation on corporate boards, recruiting key management executives, ongoing financial review, and restructuring if necessary. Waterford Investment Capital has always invested its own capital along with its investors. Whether through taking a functional role in each investment, helping to establish specific direction in operations and strategy, or determining and executing the exit strategy for the investors and principals, funding provided by Waterford Investment Capital is backed by unprecedented levels of knowledge, experience, and continuous involvement.
One of Waterford Investment Capital’s proudest achievements is Next Generation Children’s Centers, an enriching childcare program committed to provide parents and their children with the highest possible quality care and educational experience. Careful planning, active involvement, and years of commitment by Waterford Investment Capital have helped this business to grow from one location to ten successful locations.
Other ventures funded by Waterford Investment Capital include American International Petroleum Corp, Butler Aviation, Buxton Leather, Sparta Surgical, and Winstar Communications.
