Richard N. Houlding formed Waterford Investment Capital with David Banker in 1989. They provided working capital and equity for a number of private and public companies including:
- Butler Aviation
- Buxton Leather
- Next Generation Day Care Centers
- American International Petroleum
- Sparta Surgical
- Winstar Communications
Mr. Houlding formed Waterford Development with Robert Shapiro and Peter D’Amato in 1995 as the development arm of the Waterford Companies. Provided working capital, required equity and financial due diligence for the new venture. Projects included:
- Waterford Green - 204 luxury apartments, Bedford, NH
- Waterford Commons - 303 luxury apartments, Manchester, CT
- Waterford Place - 384 luxury apartments, Manchester, NH
- Sepracor Corporate Center - 425,000 sq. ft. office park including office and lab facilities, Marlboro, MA
- The Mews at Bedford - 108 homes, over 55 community, Bedford, NH
- Woodland Pond at Manchester - 73 home subdivison, Manchester, NH
- The Neighborhoods at Woodland Pond - 487 unit master planned condominium, Manchester, NH
Prior to forming The Waterford Companies, Mr. Houlding was President of the Finch Group from 1980-1989, where he developed and managed a portfolio of condominium and multi-family properties both as a developer and as an asset manager for a number of financial institutions. The Finch Group employed a staff of over 500 people.
A graduate of the University of Denver, Mr. Houlding has served on the Board of Directors of the Hillside School in Marlboro, MA, The Parmenter VNA in Wayland, MA and Northeastern Mortgage Company. He is a licensed real estate broker in the State of Massachusetts and a Certified Property Manager.
