J. Murph Yule is President of JMY Consulting Services, Inc. of Boston, MA. Founded by Mr. Yule in 1991, the company provides resort/hospitality financial services, real estate analysis, and understanding of value assessments and advises on asset planning, management, marketing, and disposition strategies, with a specialization in ski and golf resort developments and multi-season resort developments and large land plays.

The relationship with the Waterford Companies was established in October of 2007 when it became evident that the real estate market was once again entering a period that would require the workout and repositioning skills that were honed during the savings and loan meltdown in the late 1980s and early 1990s. The Waterford principals bring not only workout experience but also complementary skills and relationships that allows the Company to provide expertise in permitting, architectural design, and construction management, as well as specific experience in the development of multi-family, office, hotel and residential properties.

Since 1991, Mr. Yule has assisted in the due diligence, understanding of value, financing, asset management, development, and disposition of a number of major regional and destination resorts throughout North America, including projects in the Canadian Provinces of British Columbia, Ontario, Quebec, and Newfoundland and throughout the United States. He has also worked on resort projects in New Zealand and recently in Europe.

Prior to forming his own company, Mr. Yule served as Senior Vice President of The Finch Group, Inc., a multi-discipline real estate development company based in Boston, MA, New York and Boca Raton, Florida; and was an Economic Development Specialist for the Executive Office of Communities and Development under Governor Michael S. Dukakis of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Mr. Yule has lectured at various government-sponsored conferences in Massachusetts and other states and at university forums, including Harvard Graduate School of Design and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Real Estate and Urban Planning Schools, regarding government’s role in economic development.

Mr. Yule is a member of the National Ski Areas Association (NSAA) and the NSAA Economic Committee, Ontario Snow Resorts Association, Canada West Ski Association, the American Bankruptcy Institute and Urban Land Institute (ULI), the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) Global Real Estate Advisory Group (GREG), London, UK and Boston/New York City, NY, and also acts as an advisor to Doppelmayr/CTEC, located in Wolfurt, Austria and Salt Lake City, UT, and an advisor and consultant for the Gerson Lehrman Group, Inc., based in New York City, San Francisco, Austin, TX, with international offices in London, UK, Hong Kong, Australia, and India.

Mr. Yule is a graduate of Phillips Academy in Andover, Massachusetts and the University of New Hampshire in Durham, New Hampshire,  with BA Honors in Economics and Political Science having graduated from the Whittemore School of Business and Economics, and attended The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) in London, England, pursuing graduate studies in Economics and International Relations. He holds professional real estate brokerage licenses in Massachusetts, New York, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Rhode Island.
